New work.. Wedding Stationery - birds, lots of birds.

I have been working on wedding stationery for the past month. The task was to create colourful birds for each of the tables, so far I have done 5 of 10, I will be posting more up soon!

Mural work - Artist Residency

Between May- July I worked part-time on a large 8ft x 8ft mural at Oldswinford Hospital School. It was a great project and I got to work with the school boarding community. I worked with the year 7s, teachers and matrons to create an artwork that represented each of the boarding houses. We included the names of influential members of school, and documented memorable events and quotations. The school has over 400 years of history so it was interesting piecing the tree together!

Ladyhawke Competition - Talenthouse

So I entered Talenthouse's Competition to design artwork for Ladyhawke and Sarah Larnach. I absolutely love both Ladyhawke and the artwork of Sarah Larnach so this challenge was pretty fun!

The theme was anxiety, and I chose to base it around my sister and her fear of the unknown. I did two versions but went with the bottom choice below as I wasn't sure if the purple around it detracted from the main image.

If I win the competition I get to be on Ladyhawke's 12" LP so I'm pretty excited!!

That's why it would be great if you could support me/vote for me :) you can vote here, voting opens later today for a week!

An update of what I've been up to lately..

I've been pretty busy lately, last month I received the news that my proposal from last year had been agreed, and that I had received the funding to create a Mural at Oldswinford Hospital School.

This is going to be a great project and I've just drawn up a draft so will be able to post that up soon!

I've been working pretty consistently for Inspire by Design, here's a little bit of what I've been doing there..

-----

I also did this illustration for Film Fatale Magazine, which is to be launched soon, can't wait to get my copy. The illustration I did of Jessica Chastain will be on the front cover.

SS12 Feminine pastels

I've been doing more fashion illustration recently and I really loved Chanel's use of pastel colours in their Paris show, so I illustrated one of their catwalk fashions.
I think pastels are going to be big next season!

James' Paradise - New Work for October Private View

As you may know I'm exhibiting a few of my original paintings, and prints at Debut Contemporary in London, and here is my newest work which will be on show at the October Private View!

It has taken me three weeks to complete and is A1 in size. I created the paradise on the basis of the description James gave me, and this is the result.

To make the picture I studied a lot of plants and flowers from the botanical gardens, as well as including strata, and rocks that I had photographed from the south coast.

I am really happy I am able to show you all. I will be making it into prints if anyone is interested.
